As part of its commitment to learning from advanced global models in education, continuous and lifelong learning, technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship, the Qaddumi Foundation organized a study tour to Estonia in early October. The five-day visit brought together a group of QF community of alumni specializing in engineering, technology, operations management, manufacturing, water resources management, and digital governance.
During the five-day trip, the delegation visited several universities, technology centers, and startups, and met with students, academics, and representatives from both the public and private sectors. The visit aimed to gain a deeper understanding of the economic, social, and educational landscape of a country widely acclaimed as a leading success story in building a digital, knowledge-based society, focusing on education, technology, and innovation.
Throughout the tour, participants had the opportunity to explore Estonia’s experience in education and continuous learning, and to discuss the potential for building academic and institutional partnerships that could serve Palestinian youth and open new pathways for learning and professional development. The trip also provided a rich space for dialogue and idea exchange on how to draw on international experiences to design innovative, sustainable education and learning initiatives that are commensurate with the local context in Palestine.
Commenting on the choice of Estonia to benefit from its leading experience in education and innovation, Dr. Husam Arman, Research Specialist at the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) and a QF alumnus who joined the delegation, praised QF’s choice, saying,
“Estonia is an excellent destination for exploring academic opportunities. We can learn from the Estonian experience and apply its successful practices to develop impactful development-related programs in education, innovation, and digitization that contribute to Palestine’s development despite all the challenges.”
Rana Diab, QF Executive Director, added, “This trip is a continuation of QF’s approach to investing in education and the empowerment of Palestinian youth. It reflects our commitment to exploring new study destinations that align with ongoing digital transformations and expand opportunities for Palestinian youth in education, employment, and innovation.”
