Three Students Awarded Qaddumi Master’s Scholarship in the UK

Three Palestinian students have been awarded the Qaddumi Master’s Scholarship to pursue their studies in the UK. The scholarship is offered for majors related to Engineering, Computer Science, and Technology at some of the UK’s highly ranked universities.

Commenting on the announcement of the scholarship recipients, Rana Diab, Executive Director of the Qaddumi Foundation, said: “For more than 20 years, the Foundation has supported Palestinian students in pursuing degrees in Engineering and Technology. We are proud of the professional and academic achievements of past scholarship recipients and look forward to seeing more of our promising youth make the most of this opportunity, preparing them to meet the demands of today’s ever-evolving world.”

This round’s scholarships have been awarded to Majd Hamdan from Gaza, Ayah Arafat from Nablus, and Ayham An-Najjar from Hebron.

Majd Hamdan

Majd holds a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from the Islamic University of Gaza and has been awarded the QF scholarship to pursue an MSc in Advanced Manufacturing Systems and Technology at the University of Liverpool, UK. Upon completing his MSc, Majd plans to return to Gaza to help rebuild the industrial sector using advanced manufacturing technologies and sustainable practices. Since the age of 13, Majd has been passionate about volunteering and community service. He has volunteered to provide essential supplies to vulnerable families, and more recently, he applied his technical skills to ensure a continuous power supply at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital during the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

Ayah chose to specialize in Cloud Computing because of its pivotal role in shaping the future of technology. She believes that mastering cloud computing will keep her at the forefront of technological advancements and open diverse career opportunities. Ayah also co-founded the Palestinian Astronomical Society, an initiative that combines her love for science with community education.
