A group of the Qaddumi Foundation alumni community took part in evaluating the 2nd round of undergraduate scholarships for the 2024/2025 academic year, a round of applications launched in August 2024. The evaluation committee included Amro Wawi, who holds a master’s degree in Environmental and Energy Management from the University of Twente in the Netherlands and is currently a Senior Consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) – Middle East. Hiba Al-Ayoubi, a holder of a master’s degree in Urban planning & Landscape Architecture from Birzeit University, Palestine. Hiba is an Instructor at the Department of Architecture at Alquds University and the Founder of HOSH Studio for Architecture & Town Planning in Jerusalem. Another jury member was Aya Ahmaro, who earned her master’s degree in Intelligent Systems from Bielefeld University in Germany.

The Qaddumi Foundation has consistently prioritized engaging its scholarship alumni community in evaluating applications from Palestinian youth. This reflects the Foundation’s belief in the alumni’s role in supporting its mission to empower young people, foster societal engagement, and transfer expertise from one generation to the next.

After evaluating the scholarship applications, the committee members expressed their pride in the Palestinian youth, highlighting their strong belief in their potential to contribute to the development and progress of Palestine. They also conveyed deep gratitude and appreciation for the organizations supporting young people, particularly the Qaddumi Foundation, which exemplifies the values of social responsibility and exceptional youth empowerment.”

cool Amro Wawi expressed his enthusiasm about being part of the evaluation process, saying: “I felt overwhelmed going through Palestinian youth’s dreams and aspirations while reviewing their applications. I believe that every dream represents a cornerstone for the development and growth of our country. I am so proud to contribute, even in a small way, to help turn these dreams into reality.”

Hiba Al-Ayoubi shared her appreciation for the opportunity, stating: “I value the chance to participate in evaluating the scholarship applications. This scholarship is more than just financial aid—it is a gateway for talented youth to pursue their education and unlock new opportunities for a better future.”

Aya Ahmaro reflected on her journey and the importance of this scholarship, adding “I feel grateful to have served on the Qaddumi Foundation evaluation committee. This scholarship was once a major motivation for me to excel in my studies. I hope all recipients will fully embrace this outstanding opportunity. These young people represent the real hope for our Palestinian community amidst challenging circumstances.”cool
